In society we hear words like 'feminism', womanhood', 'equality' as well as many more, being flung around without really thinking about what they mean. Woman have fought so hard for equality of the sexes, however after battling for so long, what are we left with? We're left with a muddy perception on what feminimity really means; to be 'feminine' usually brings up images of twirly skirts, ribbons and a girly voice answering 'if you say so', yet to be a 'feminist', to some this means a man-hating. power hungry lady who steps on everyone around her. Are either of these representations accurate? No, neither is totally accurate, there are different shades and aspects in each individual woman. Yet our womanhood is now in the throes of imbalance, and if we were to define womanhood we would have great difficulty.
Could it be possible that there is a great strength in knowing what it means to be a balanced and centred woman, who revels in her womanhood, where she knows who she is, what she wants, and doesn't feel a deep ache in herself because she can't even identify who she should be and how to get there? Could we rip up the old stereotypes and create a new model for womanhood? Can we look at ourselves in the mirror and see a woman on purpose, who loves, laughs and lives? A women that feels that she is part of the world wide group of deep, caring, ambitious, joyful, and true women that live the life that they were destined to live? Can we find a purpose for ourselves, a reason for being born female, and recognise the purpose in everything and everyone around us? Can we change our perceptions of ourselves, influence others for good, and ultimately change the world for the better? I believe we can, and that is what I have chosen to do - to be a woman on purpose - a woman who lives with purpose and who finds purpose in life.
Come with me for the ride... let's change the world, one woman at a time!
